When I started my search for a treadmill I read a lot of reviews. My original idea had been to get an I-Fit or one with Jillian Michaels workouts preloaded, but they seemed to have an awful lot of problems so I steered clear. I am happy I went with the Sole F63 because it is a durable, well-built treadmill, which is just right for me. It is solidly built and quiet, which are both a plus. My one complaint about this treadmill is that the heart rate monitor is broken. Even after replacing the battery (which was hard to do with the tiny screws), it still only worked for a few minutes and then malfunctioned again. I can monitor my heart rate with the handles, but it is not the same.
Review #2:
At first I read some negative reviews about the Sole F63, but they all seem to be about people having problems with the heart rate monitor or the fan or something else that isn’t the actual performance on the treadmill. I wanted a good quality treadmill; I was not worried about any of the extras. I like the design of the F63, the cup holders on the top and bottom. It is easy to change the incline and speed settings. However, more than that I love the quality at an affordable price.
I did a lot of research before deciding to go with the Sole F63. First, let me tell you that it is almost like the more research you do the harder it seems to choose the treadmill, which is right for you. The more reviews you read and the more you look on the running forums the more complicated it gets. Many people said to go with Life Fitness or Precor but they were excessively expensive for me.
Proform sells a similar treadmill but it seems to have many problems according to the reviews.
After a bunch of digging, I found out that the F63 and the F80 have both been updated with more CHP (horsepower). The F63 was now last year’s F80 with a few changes to the warranty. This means you are getting even more for your money. In addition, if you are one of the brave men or women who serve our country, Sole gives discounts if you purchase direct from the company. Therefore, I was pretty settled on buying a Sole, especially after my neighbor got the F80 and loved it. At first, I was not sure if I wanted to shell out the extra cash for the Sole F80, but paying an extra $500 for 0.5 CHP seemed like too much for my budget.
Therefore, I finally took the plunge and ordered the Sole F63. I was super impressed with the quick delivery. I was amazed to see how simple set up was! Moreover, the long running deck is great. My husband does say he sometimes hits the front of the treadmill when he runs, but he runs near the front of the treadmill. I have no problems. So far, it has been a great treadmill, very well built and perfect for what I wanted.
I usually run on it six days a week for at least 3 miles at a time with no problems. It works perfectly with sprints. I do not miss having the extra horsepower at all. Now if you plan to run over 50 miles a week on the treadmill or if the people using it are really heavy then I guess you might want to invest in a Sole F80 or maybe look into a Life Fitness if it’s within your budget. No matter what treadmill you are looking to buy, be sure to ask about the CHP. For running, you want one with a 3.0 or more.
The only comparably priced treadmills I saw were designed for walking or jogging, so I am pleased I found the F63. I do not think I could have found a treadmill for the same price that I would be as happy using. It does exactly what I wants, which is to be a good treadmill for a regular running program. Therefore, if that is what you are looking for, the Sole F63 might be the right treadmill for you too.
