Do you want to whiten your teeth without spending more than $10? If you do, then this article is certainly made just for you. I’m a mother and a college student at the time. I’m not rich and I basically cannot afford a $40 whitener system. However, I have come up with a way of home teeth whitening with the resources that I have and this is what I would be sharing to you as you continue to read my article.

First of all, I would be showing you the disadvantages of getting an overly priced teeth whitening product. I would make you see that you are only buying its name and the contents of this product are mostly found inside your home.

I bet that you are familiar with the expensive Crest White Strips that are available in the market. These strips contain Sodium Saccharin, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates Copolymer, Hydrogen Peroxide, Water, PEG-8 and PVP.

Let’s get to know each of these chemicals. Sodium hydroxide claims to provide PH balance even if the human body is already capable of doing that. Sodium saccharin gives the strips a neutral taste while Acrylates Copolymer, PEG-8 and PVP stick them to your teeth. This leaves you to hydrogen peroxide and water. Don’t you know that hydrogen peroxide is being sold in several pharmacies for less than 1 dollar? As you can see, manufacturers make you pay a lot more for something that’s a lot less.

Thus, here is the way on how you can achieve a whiter shade for your teeth without buying any of those overly priced teeth whitening products. If you’re ready, then go grab some flavoring, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in your kitchen. I opted for Vanilla extract as my flavoring but you are free to choose what’s going to be yours.

  1. Come up with a paste which has hydrogen peroxide and 1 tsp of baking soda in it.
  2. Put the flavor that you want into the paste.
  3. Apply the paste in your toothbrush and brush your teeth as you normally do.
  4. Gargle some water afterwards.

When looking for a hydrogen peroxide solution in a pharmacy, make sure that you grab one that only has 3% of the chemical in it. This is the percentage that is suitable for your sensitive teeth. Never purchase a solution which has more than 6% of hydrogen peroxide in it for you prevent causing damage to your teeth.

If your gums and teeth can’t seem to handle the strong effects of hydrogen peroxide, then you can put more water in the paste. If your gums are still painful because of the solution, then you can settle for a mixture of baking soda and water alone. You might not get the immediate results that you want from this mixture but then, your teeth and gums would be free from any sort of pain.

Here is another home remedy that can whiten your teeth without the presence of baking soda in it.

  1. Come up with a solution that is made of salt (25%) and lemon juice (75%). If this solution is too strong for you, add more water into it.
  2. Stir the solution and use it as a mouth wash after you eat your meals.

Warning: Don’t swallow the paste or mouth rinse that you have created if you are on a diet which is low in sodium.
