Improper hygiene, irregular sleeping patterns and an unhealthy Acne diet can also increase the chances of having our faces populated by several acnes. Dr. Chapa also stated that both physical and psychological stress can produce the stress hormone known as cortisol in our systems which can greatly affect the appearance of our skin.
However, cortisol is not completely the “bad guy” in this story. This hormone can supply us with instant energy as well. Nevertheless, it’s still a stress hormone which results from too much sugar in our body. Thus, this only shows that Wood was right in saying that the foods we eat are reflected in the kind of skin that we have.
She also suggested that we should drink lots of water in order for us to take care of our biggest organ which is our skin.
