Claims of hair thickening had been noticed by users who have tried applying it on minor baldness. The medication is not suggested to people, especially men who have extensive baldness. Skin irritation may show when using the medication though minimal in effect. Rogaine has been approved by the authorities for use by men and women and can be bought over the counter at any drugstore or pharmacy.
PROPECIA
Propecia is a medication taken once a day to treat symptoms of male pattern hair loss in men. Male pattern hair loss is characterized by receding hairline in either or both sides of and above the forehead. Propecia is not recommended for pregnant women and children, because it contains finasteride that may lead to birth defects. Male children exposed to this drug may cause indifference in their male organ. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor before taking the medication for clearer understanding of the positive and side effects this drug may cause you.
HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE
Hair transplant is a surgical procedure involving the technique of removing hair follicles from a part of one’s body, is called the donor site to the balding area, which is called the recipient. Depending on the hair requirements for transplantation, a person may experience long hours of hair transplant that will cover 10-60 implants per session. Since hair grows naturally in groupings of 1-4, a follicular unit transplant may be done to achieve a natural appearance of hair growth in a person’s body. The process can also be done to areas wherein baldness occurred due to accidents.
SKIN GRAFTING
A portion of the skin is grafted from the donor skin thru a surgical procedure and it transplanted into the balding part. It is presumed that many follicles are transplanted at the same time.
SCALP REDUCTION
It involves the surgical removal of the balding scalp followed by the stretching of the hairy part. The stretching causes the scalp to be moved to a higher position on the head. Good candidates are those with still much hair on the sides and back of the scalp. This is not done often.
PREDNISONE
Is a medication that may effectively reduce baldness of a person? Known as a corticosteroid, Prednisone may be given orally as a pill, or topically applied on the skin or maybe in the form of a liquid to be injected in the scalp or other areas, which are bald. When taken orally, this hair loss treatment may cause weight gain, slow metabolism, acne, and menstrual disorders. Use of the drug may take time for therapeutic effect on baldness.
