Your jaw and tongue would stay intact and no sound would come from your mouth if you are able to stay in this position.
This kind of sleeping position is also useful in keeping the air passage free from any type of pressure. It would also prevent your muscles from relaxing completely. Another way for you to stop snoring is to place your bed in a 30 degree inclined position. Having an uneven bed would certainly prevent the tissues in your throat from collapsing.
