So, you want to know do stretch marks go away? Due to a steroid medication, I have stretch marks on my upper thighs and am distraught about their appearance. My doctor told me that with time, their appearance would lessen, but they will not go away entirely. I am hoping he is wrong. Is there any product on the market that can make them disappear?

I am sorry to say that your doctor is right. They never go away entirely, and how much they fade will depend a lot, on how severe they are, to begin with. I got a ton during my pregnancy, and all but a few faded to the point where they are barely visible, slightly silvery lines. I am not sure what your skin tone is, I am Caucasian, but even when I tan, they are not that noticeable.
No, they do not go away totally, but they do fade. The better you take care of your skin, the more you will lessen their appearance. Staying well moisturized is the most important factor. You can get cocoa butter creams at any drug store, and I have found this to work better than anything else has.
The only way to get rid of them entirely is to undergo surgery. Yikes! Assuming you do not want to do that, you can massage vitamin E oil into them to nourish the skin and help minimize their appearance.
