Let’s talk about how to prevent acne.
Here are the most important steps:
1.) Relax! Stress can only make your acnes or pimples look worse. Know all of your stressors for you to find ways that would allow you to cope up with them.
2.) Exercise everyday. Routines would certainly do you good and it would surely improve the condition of your skin. However, make sure that you use gears and wear clothes that wouldn’t irritate your skin when you are already performing the exercise.
3.) Give your skin the food that it needs. Have regular meals that are filled with vitamins, whole grains, vegetables and fruits. Refrain from eating junk food and other recipes which have too much oil in them. You can munch on some chocolates though.
4.) Stay indoors when the sun is at its highest. Your skin would certainly look all red and inflamed if you stay in an open field at 12 noon. Moreover, a few anti acne products can reduce the ability of your skin to withstand the heat of the sun so always be careful. Put sunscreen (preferably one that is noncomedogenic) on and don’t go outside of your door unless the substance has already settled on your skin.
5.) Your face should be off limits from your hands. Never put your chin or cheek in contact with your palm. Don’t lay your fingers on your face unless you really have to. Your hands are basically dirty and putting them on your face would only cause irritation and more skin breakouts.
6.) Be conscientious of the products that you apply on your hair. Keep in mind that whatever you place on your hair would certainly come down to your face. Thus, refrain from using hair gels, pomades, oils and all of those unknown fragrances. Don’t further irritate your skin and clog your pores with all of these commercial products. Stick with the basic shampoo and conditioner.
7.) Never apply cosmetic products such as blush on, powder and foundation on your face if you have acnes spread all over the area. If you can’t avoid wearing these things, then make sure that you don’t sleep with your makeup on. Wash your face immediately when you arrive home. Moreover, opt for cosmetic products that are noncomedogenic and free from oil for you to prevent your acnes from getting worse.
8.) Buy anti acne products from a pharmacy outlet near you. Don’t wait for your doctor’s prescription (not needed) if you have already done a thorough research on the products that you would want to buy. Just look for items containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide for all of your acnes to easily dry out and for your face to be free from bacteria. However, if you are using these products for the first time, apply only a small amount on your face for an initial trial period.
9.) Aside from using anti acne products, you would need to apply a moisturizer on your skin as well. This is to prevent the layers of your skin from peeling and from totally becoming dry. A noncomedogenic moisturizer would be best for your condition. This product is recommended to everyone regardless of one’s skin type
10.) Make sure that your face is clean most of the time. Your face shouldn’t have excess oil, dead skin cells and bacteria as much as possible. Thus, wash your face with clean water on a regular basis.
If you are using a loofah, exfoliating glove or a washcloth in scrubbing your face, make sure that you do the routine in a gentle manner. Remember that your face has a softer skin compared to the other parts of your body.
If all of these steps have not worked for you to prevent acne, then you can let your skin doctor save the day.
