In order to develop and increase the recall capacity of one’s memory, one has to engage in photographic training exercises. Although much has been taught about how to focus on acquiring the ability to retain and recall information, it is in the learning process that one can acquire the skill effectively. The learning process is what matters rather than the memorization because it creates links in the mind, which allows an individual to easily recall the information whenever needed.
The most common photographic memory exercises are list building, word association which is also known as visualization and association, and storytelling. These are helpful in remembering lists such as telephone numbers, birthdays or shopping lists.
Even though some people doubt the existence of photographic memory, there is no doubt that these exercises can help improve the mental capacity and memory of an individual when practicing these exercises.
Our highly recommended exercise would be the picture game. It is a fun game and for that reason, it can be effectively adapted to children and adults. Because there is that fun element, it makes it an interesting to people that will help to easily remember what they have learned and put it into practice. It will also be more effective to involve a reward when dealing with children as it increases motivation making them work harder and pay more attention to what you are trying to teach.
This is an amazing exercise for improving your sensory memory, particularly your vision. You can start with using a simple picture that involves a foreground and a background. Look at and study the picture for a minute, then hid it so that you cannot see it and see how much you can recall. You can ask questions like how many people are their? What are they wearing? How many flowers in the pot?
These are simple questions that will urge your willingness to recall the picture. This is a great exercise and you can move on practicing with more complex pictures. With constant practice, you will one day be surprised how much you have improved your photographic memory.
