Reasons to Quit Smoking

Smoking is an addiction and it is gross! And yes, we all know that. For many years, tobacco companies have targeted many teens (they are all grown up), trying to get them hooked on the cigarette product (I bet, many are now hooked up), and thus have a lifetime customer. It was a strategy that puts billions of dollars in tobacco company’s funds, and they have enjoyed the fruits of that strategy, turning many of us a blind eye to all the danger it gives to our health. But there are many Reasons to Quit Smoking and I am giving you the list.

To feel better, live longer
Did you know that smoking kills almost half of all smokers worldwide, very dangerous! One smoker dies every five minutes because of smoking in the UK. 87% of deaths caused by lung cancer. Smoking also reduces the life expectancy by 7-8 years, can you imagine that guys? Smoking kills around 114,000 people in the Europe alone each year, and an in general, the risk of mortality declines after 10-15 years of non-smoking zone.

To save money
Smoking also hits your wallet. Smoking twenty cigarettes a day even the cheapest brand, it is equivalent to ?1500 every year in Europe! What about the other places? How much money you waste on the thing that will kill you in the future?

Sleep better feel better
Smokers are at increased risk of back pain, fatigue and headaches. It also reduces antioxidants in our body and doubles the risk of dementia, anxiety and depressive disorders they might further develop in the future.

It’s not attractive, folks!
Smoking damages your teeth and gums and causes mouth ulcers so therefore it is not attractive. It can also damage your eyes and cause cataracts.

You smell and taste like an ashtray!
Nobody wants to be called like that. In fact there are 6,000 chemicals in tobacco, including butane, cyanide, ammonia and carbon monoxide that’s why it causes bad breath and gum disease, which can lead to tooth breakage .

It’s not good for your skin
Smoking speeds up aging. Usually they suffer from skin problems because they have paler, dryer skin, the wrinkles will appear visibly due to reduced blood supply that allows the skin to lose its elasticity as well as your nails will turn yellow which is very unpleasant.

Lastly, it can affect your health
Cancer of the lungs is the most common illness or disease you can get from smoking. It weakens the immune system therefore it increases the risk of having pneumonia and diabetes. The Coronary Heart Disease Nicotine increases cholesterol in the blood, which is not good. It also makes you six times more likely to suffer a stroke, whoa! Smoking cigarettes raises the blood pressure – a risk factor for heart attacks and strokes Smoking causes 80% of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) cases. Another problem of smoking is it can damage the gut, weaken the bones by de-mineralizing the bone.

The reason to quit smoking is endless. Remember, think about the people around you, especially your loved ones. If you want to live long enough, you will do whatever it takes to live healthy and spend long years with them.
